First Rhymes

The First Rhymes series focuses on common word families for beginning readers. Each book starts with a picture glossary illustrating five words from the featured word family. The next section has a rebus sentence using one of the five word family words and its picture clue from the glossary. The third section reinforces the word family words by using them in simple descriptive sentences. The last section is a story comprised of a fun, building poem using the five featured rhyming words along with illustrations that support the text. These books are appropriate for independent, shared, and guided reading.
